If your travel plans were changed and if you schedule to travel before June 30, 2020, then you are eligible for a travel credit upon cancellation where you can get a new flight ticket booked within 24 hours without paying any additional charges


In certain scenarios depending on the severity of the situation, you are also eligible for a refund. You need to check out the terms and conditions mentioned on your ticket and you need to fill out the refund request form. The airline authorities will contact you shortly to inform you whether you are eligible for the refund or not. The refund request may take up to 21 days



 Ideally for all the United airlines flights if a ticket is cancelled or changed within 24 hours of the flight departure time then you are eligible for a full refund this is applicable for refundable tickets. For non-refundable tickets, you will not get a refund but you can purchase a new ticket of the same cost or for tickets with the higher cost you need to pay the differential amount. However, in this scenario, you will need to pay a cancellation fee.


  You will also have an option to purchase travel insurance with your ticket. If your cancellation cause in genuine the insurance company will make sure that you get your amount back. Other costs like accommodation, medical allowance and additional charges may also be borne by the insurance company depending on the terms and conditions.
